I was awaiting one day
for a ship to come to shore
but instead of a boat
it was something else that I saw
I thought I knew the waves
and ocean's cool breeze
that I watched every day
coming towards me
but the sea it runs deep
many surprises beneath
that can be washed up
on my own little beach
And there's an old boot
washed up by my heel
it's giving me love
I didn't expect to feel
