Softly Spoken Words
28/03/2003
softly spoken words on the breeze
float towards me with such ease
till it hits me between the eyes
no running away, no place to hide
I can stand up, but I have to fall
down on the ground, all I can do is crawl
whisper sweetly. into my ear
say the words I want to hear
until you fade away and I'm left alone
surrounded by myself and all that I've known
hot summer breezes floating through this cave
something in the shadows is full of rage
shafts of sunlight pour through a crack
a gentle reminder warming my back
A creepy sound drawing near
todays the day I'll be facing my fear
And then a moment of strength back in my arms
just enough to protect me from harm
bird songs are a calling, to wake me from my dream
before it turns to nightmare, I've not yet seen
A cold feeling behind me, II open an eye
It's breath on my neck I start to cry
But through my tears I see a doorway open
I wipe my eyes dry, the words have now been spoken
whisper sweetly in my ear
speak the words you want to hear
hold your head up, you try to stand
and you fall to the ground, there is no hand
to lift you, pick you up from your fall
you're down there allk alone, you can but crawl
on the air you hear a tune
whislting to your heart and making you turn
your head it moves around your eyes open
the dreamy stae you find yourself feeling broken
from a nightmare awoken into my own dreams
and now we're together to watch the same scene
and the moment kissing on my hand,
snuggles closer to me, but what is it's plan
such a wounding force
came at me with a smile
was it me that held the dagger
all the while
now we're both broken
all we can do is mend
there is every chance
to change before the end
on the air you hear a tune
whislting to your heart and making you turn
your head it moves around your eyes open
the dreamy stae you find yourself feeling broken
from a nightmare awoken
