A Whisper As Old As The Wind

a whisper as old as the windd
can we know what it means
back through one thousand lines
passed down from life to life
were there once two lips
a wise voice the whisper fits
and is there a human ear
open and ready to hear
forgotten words or just a myth
over time does truth drift
shaped by the mouths of men
or guided by a bigger plan
so we listen for a sound
we press our ears against the ground
the earth heard the whisper well
and we wait for it to tell
